A game idea in progress

In development

City Drive.

What if you could go for a drive, get out, explore, and play a sport without leaving the same game?

The idea

More than
a driving game.

City Drive started with a driving-game idea. The bigger goal is a place with more to do: move around, step out of the car, and find a tennis or pickleball game.

It brings together a few interests I keep coming back to: sports, exploration, and making something interactive. I’m working toward a world where those activities belong together.

This is an ongoing personal experiment, not a finished game. The features below describe where I want to take it.

The direction

Three parts of one world.

01 / Goal

Drive

A world to explore by car, with driving as part of the experience rather than the entire game.

02 / Goal

Explore

The ability to step out of the car and spend time in the world on foot.

03 / Goal

Play

Tennis or pickleball as something to do in that world, not a separate game you have to leave it to play.

Development questions

What needs
figuring out.

How much world is enough?

The vision is broad. The challenge is finding a manageable first version with enough to explore and a reason to keep playing.

How should the activities connect?

Driving, walking, and sports need to make sense together. The transitions matter as much as the individual activities.

What makes it feel like a place?

I want more than roads on a map. The longer-term goal is a world that feels worth spending time in.
